Vayora MCP tools for tasks and the desk

Start the day with one call that gathers everything wanting attention, list your open tasks, leave a task for later, and see what you have done in the last week.

Written by the Vayora team. Updated 29 October 2026.

The morning question in one call

whats_on_my_desk collects four things into a single answer: your open tasks, candidates stuck in a stage, contracts about to expire and submissions still waiting for client feedback. It exists because the alternative is four separate calls that the model has to think to make, and the first question of the day should not depend on that. A days setting, seven by default and up to 90, sets both the stuck threshold and how far ahead to look for expiring contracts.

Nothing in it is scored or ranked. It reports the desk, and deciding what matters stays with the conversation and the recruiter.

Tasks the recruiter will see later

create_task leaves a follow-up that appears on the Tasks page, optionally linked to a candidate or a role. A task can be a call, email, LinkedIn, meeting, follow-up or to-do, with low, medium or high priority and an optional due date in ISO 8601. list_my_tasks shows only the connected user's own open tasks, not done and not cancelled. get_my_stats is the weekly reporting question: tasks completed, candidates moved, notes added and outreach drafts made over a period of seven days by default, up to 90.

What to ask

These are the kind of messages a recruiter types into Claude or ChatGPT once Vayora is connected. The assistant chooses the tools itself.

  • What needs me today?
  • Remind me to call Priya Shah on Thursday at 3pm about the controller role, high priority.
  • What did I get done this week, and what is still open?
  • Which of my tasks are overdue, and which candidates have gone quiet for more than a week?

Common questions

Does the desk rank what I should do first?
No. whats_on_my_desk reports tasks, stalled candidates, expiring contracts and unanswered submissions without scoring them. The assistant and the recruiter decide the order.
Can it see a colleague's tasks?
list_my_tasks returns tasks assigned to the connected user. It is built around the caller's own desk, not the whole team's.
Can it complete or delete a task?
Not through MCP. It can create a task and read the open ones. Marking a task done, editing it or deleting it happens in the app.
What counts as a stuck candidate here?
Someone sitting in a stage that is not final for longer than the days setting, seven by default. People who have only applied are covered by a separate check and are left out of the desk.

Every tool acts as the person who connected it, inside their own workspace. The MCP overview covers connecting, the read and write split and limits. The developers page has the API and webhooks, integrations lists the rest of what Vayora connects to, and ATS or CRM for a recruitment agency explains why the records sit in one place.
